Only Fools and Horses

The closing trilogy of Only Fools and Horses written by John Sullivan was originally broadcast around Christmas 1996. The three episodes - Heroes & Villains, Modern Men and Time On Our Hands.

In Heroes and Villains, Del and Rodney appear out of the mists as Batman and Robin. The underscore for the scene featured a new arrangement of the TV Batman theme, with a light rhythm keeping Del's chat with Councillor Murray clearly audible. As the pair took off for the party, the full brass section came back in. The final two notes for the 'ding dong' of the doorbell are almost inaudible under the studio audience's laughter and cheering; they went wild at the sight of the TITCO Crusaders.

Time On Our Hands closes with the millionaires Del, Rodney and Uncle Albert walking to the sunset - Del still coming up with new schemes.
